Discover Deep Health Insights with Hair & Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA)

Explore Your Body's Mineral Levels and Exposure to Toxic Metals

Our Hair & Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA) Test dives into your body’s mineral and metal content, offering a comprehensive snapshot of your health and exposure to potentially toxic metals. This noninvasive test requires just 0.25 grams of hair, making it easy to complete in the comfort of your home.

Why Choose Hair & Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA)?

Nutrient Monitoring

Our test measures crucial nutrient elements such as magnesium, chromium, zinc, copper, and selenium—essential co-factors for hundreds of enzymes and vital for vitamin functionality.

Toxic Metal Detection

It is especially effective in identifying recent exposure to toxic metals like arsenic, aluminum, cadmium, lead, and mercury—elements that can be up to 300 times more concentrated in hair than in blood or urine.

Non-Invasive

A small sample of scalp hair is all that's required, making the sample collection process simple.

Historical Data Record

Hair grows at a rate of one to two cm per month, embedding a temporal record of your mineral metabolism and toxic exposure.

Reliable Data

Endorsed by the CDC and the U.S. EPA for its accuracy, the HTMA uses the latest technology and strict scientific protocols to provide dependable results.

Early Health Insights

Along with symptoms and other lab values, HTMA can help diagnose issues related to imbalances in mineral metabolism early, potentially preventing more serious conditions.

What Can HTMA Tell Us About Your Health?

The Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA) can help identify a range of health issues beyond just toxicity from heavy metals. It provides insights into several other areas due to its ability to measure levels of both essential and toxic minerals in the hair. Here are some of the key health issues HTMA can help identify:

  1. Nutritional Deficiencies: By analyzing levels of essential minerals like magnesium, zinc, selenium, and copper, HTMA can identify deficiencies that might be contributing to various health symptoms, including fatigue, immune dysfunction, and hormonal imbalances.

  2. Metabolic Rate: The balance of certain minerals can indicate whether a person has a slow or fast metabolism. This information can be crucial for understanding energy levels, weight issues, and overall metabolic health.

  3. Endocrine Function: Mineral imbalances can affect the function of glands like the thyroid and adrenal glands. For instance, a copper and zinc imbalance might suggest thyroid function issues, while imbalances in sodium and potassium are often linked to adrenal health.

  4. Mental Health Concerns: Certain mineral patterns can be associated with neurological and psychological conditions such as depression, anxiety, and other mood disorders. For example, high copper levels are often related to high anxiety.

  5. Stress Response: HTMA can show patterns of mineral excretion that are associated with chronic stress, which can affect overall health profoundly, influencing everything from digestive health to susceptibility to infection.

  6. Oxidative Stress: Some minerals are important antioxidants (like selenium). Their levels can provide insights into the body’s oxidative stress status and potential damage caused by free radicals.

  7. Bone Health: Minerals like calcium and magnesium are crucial for bone density. An imbalance can indicate problems like osteoporosis or other bone-related conditions.

  8. Cardiovascular Health: Imbalances in certain minerals, such as a high calcium-to-magnesium ratio, can indicate an increased risk for cardiovascular issues.

  9. Detoxification Pathways: Some minerals are critical for the detoxification processes in the liver. Analyzing these can help assess how well the body is managing and detoxifying various substances.

Ideal for:

Individuals seeking comprehensive insights into the effects of their nutritional status and environmental exposures, especially those experiencing fatigue, weakness, mood disorders, hair loss, brittle nails, digestive issues, skin problems, neurological symptoms, immune dysfunction, hormonal imbalances, muscle and joint pain, headaches and migraines, and cardiovascular symptoms. This test is also more affordable than most other functional lab tests, making it a great choice for someone who is budget-conscious.

Preparation and Sampling:

The test doesn’t require a special diet. You do not need to discontinue taking medications or dietary supplements. To ensure accuracy and prevent skewed results, it is important to use hair that has not been recently exposed to shampoos with heavy metals, perms, dyes, bleaches, or other chemical treatments. Cut 0.25 grams of hair samples from five or six areas in the back of head, as close to the scalp as possible. The test kit contains a scale to help make sure you’ve gathered enough hair. You’ll only send in the first inch of growth for analysis. It is not recommended to mix pubic hair with head hair.
